چکیده

This paper describes a switched audio amplifier that achieves high efficiency without the major drawbacks associated with this kind of amplifiers. The problems of high harmonic distortion and low rejection of supply variations are minimised by use of One Cycle Control. A new filter topology allows load impedance variation without gain variation in the audio band.

A New Trans-admittance-Mode Biquad Filter Suitable for Low Voltage Operation

The trans-admittance-mode (TAM) might act as a transforming bridge for voltage-mode to current-mode conversion. In this study a new low voltage operated electronically tunable TAM biquad filter structure realizing all the seven standard filtering functions namely; low-pass (LP), band-pass (BP), high-pass (HP), regular-notch (RN), low-pass-notch (LPN), high-pass-notch (HPN) and all-pass (AP) fro...

Ripple Feedback Filter Suitable for Analogmigital Mixed-Mode Audio Amplifier for Improved Efficiency and Stability

A new ripple feedback filter is presented for Analog/Digital mixed-mode amplifier (MMA) among audio applications. MMA is composed of two amplifiers: one is analog amplifier responsible for high fidelity and the other is digital switching amplifer in charge of high efficiency. To improve both total harmonic distortion (THD) and efficiency, passive RLC filter is needed at the output side of the d...

15.3 A 115dB-DR audio DAC with -61dBFS out-of-band noise

Out-of-band noise (OBN) is troublesome in analog circuits that process the output of a noise-shaping audio DAC. It causes slewing in amplifiers and aliasing in sampling circuits like ADCs and class-D amplifiers. Non-linearity in these circuits also causes cross-modulation of the OBN into the audio band. These mechanisms lead to a higher noise level and more distortion in the audio band. OBN als...

About the Demodulation of Pwm-signals with Applications to Audio Amplifiers

In this paper, the reason for the relatively high distortion level of conventional class-D audio amplifiers is discussed. It is pointed out that the classical approach is insufficient for high performance applications. Therefore the importance of the matching between modulation and demodulation is demonstrated by simulation. 1. THE CLASS-D-AUDIO AMPLIFIER The concept of class-D amplifiers was i...

Multi-Cell Switch-Mode Power Amplifier with Closed-Loop Hybrid Output Voltage Filter

Abstract In this paper a promising novel output voltage filtering concept for multi-cell switch-mode power amplifiers is analyzed. The proposed hybrid filtering concept is based on a passive LC filter enhanced by a linear-mode correction stage of small rated power. Using this principle, also "sub-harmonic" (i.e. low-frequency) switching noise distortions (typically appearing in real interleaved...
